Protect your business with the right system

Intruder alarms add an extra level of security to your business by repelling burglars and notifying police in the case of a break-in. With configurable settings, you can select the degree of security that best meets the needs of your company. Don’t wait for the unexpected to happen. Invest in an intruder alarm system today.

Improve chances of thieves being caught

Alert the emergency services quickly and efficiently and they are far more likely to catch the perpetrators in the act!

Additional sensors: The alarm system can be fitted with CO2 and flood sensors to provide added protection against potential hazards. This ensures that you are alerted in case of any dangerous situations, such as carbon monoxide leaks or flooding.

Presence detection: The system is equipped with PIR detectors, perimeter detectors, door and window detectors, and video detection capabilities to detect and deter burglars or thieves. This feature allows you to be alerted when someone tries to break into your premises or enters outside of normal hours, giving you peace of mind and added security.

Dual network: To ensure that the system is always functional, a dual network can be set up with landline, IP, and GPRS connectivity. In the event that one network goes down, the second network takes over, ensuring that your intruder alarm system is always effective.

Verification: If the system detects an anomalous presence, it allows for interaction with your premises to confirm or disprove an intrusion when integrated with TIOC cameras. This can save you time and money by avoiding false alarms and their associated inconveniences.

360 Integration: Strengthen your security and integrate with biometric readers, such as fingerprints, to set your alarm in and out. This allows for a seamless and cohesive security setup, ensuring that all aspects of your protection are working together.

How Does An Intruder Alarm System Work?

01

DETECTION

sensor-graphic

When the intruder alarm system is armed, movement or intrusion is initally detected via sensors. Sensors include:
Passive infrared (PIRs) which detect changes in heat
Door contacts, which trigger if the contact is broken (ie the door is opened)
Pressure sensors create an alert if someone steps on the plate.
Glass break detectors trigger if a window or glass door is broken.
Dual motion detectors and more.
The alert is then sent to the intruder alarm control panel via alarm cable or via the network.

02

CONTROL

The intruder alarm panel controls the arming and disarming of the alarm system.
It can be armed through using mobile phone, pin codes, or a biometric reader. Sensors are connected to circuits in the alarm panel via alarm cable or wireless communication and the triggering of these sensors will prompt a pre-programmed response. The burglar alarm control panel is tamper proof and installed with dual path signalling if required.

03

RESPONSE

intruder-alarm-sounder-graphic

The most basic response to a triggered intruder alarm is a loud internal and external sounder also known as a bell box.
The tamper proof alarm control panel can also be preset to alert the keyholder and/ or an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) where trained operators will then take action; either to alert the authorities, the keyholder, or a guarding company.
We work with industry leaders Smart Monitoring and QVIS for our intruder alarm monitoring.

INTEGRATION

Couple your intruder alarm with CCTV for quick verification that an alert is a genuine intrusion. Cutting edge TIOC cameras can give you an early warning that a burglar or unauthorised person has broached your site’s perimeter and advanced AI means false alarms have been slashed.

Biometric access control readers can be used to set/ unset the alarm and ensure you know exactly who disarmed the system and when.

    Got a few more questions?

We’re here to help.. read on..

No, you cannot move freely around a building when the system is activated because it will set off the alarm!  As part of the alert verification procedure, the monitoring centre immediately checks the intruder alarm activation.
However, we can set up different alarms zones. You can then set some or all of the zones. You can also set different permissions for users. For example. The floor manager could be the last person out and activate the stock and production area alarm, whereas the admin manager sets the office alarm zone.

An intruder alarm system is made up of the following components: a central control unit that controls and communicates with the whole system, and sensors that detect intrusion and trigger the alert to the control centre or keyholder as soon as anyone tries to break in. Which sensors you need will be determined on how many and what type of entrances and exits you have, sensors can include door contacts, break glass sensors, PIRs, pressure and beam detectors. Your alarm site survey will confirm what you need and where.
You’ll also want sounders, also known as a bell box, which will emit a loud siren upon intruder alarm activation. This is designed to scare the intruder away!

Sensors should not point towards moving objects or sources of heat in the building. Don’t set your robot vacuum cleaner going and then set the intruder alarm! Pet immune detectors are now common in modern intruder alarm systems.

Too many false alarms and the police or garda may refuse to attend site, it’s important that your intruder alarm system is professionally configured by security experts who know how to avoid false alarms.

A basic intruder alarm system, with a control hub, a few sensors and self-monitoring will be relatively inexpensive. Wireless alarm systems are easy to install and maintain. A more complex set up, with different zones, users and monitoring should be specified and installed by professionals. You don’t want to leave your business vulnerable and invalidate your insurance because everyone has stopped setting the intruder alarm because of frequent alerts..

Your insurance company may stipulate that you need a certain ‘Grade’ of intruder alarm. This system is governed by the EN50131 European standards (published in the UK as BS EN50131.
Simply the required Grading of your intruder alarm system will increase with the likelihood that you will be burgled!
Grade 1 – There is a low risk of burglars targeting your premises.
Grade 2 – The risk of theft is slightly higher, this may be due to valuable stock or machinery being kept at your business premises.
Grade 3 – Your business is at substantial risk, from experienced intruders, due to high value materials, machinery or stock being held on your site.
Grade 4 – There is a very high risk of being targeted by organised criminals, for example a jewellers.

The grading will determine what type of signalling you need. Your alarm installer will then be able to advise on a site by site basis on the components and sensors you will need to create an effective intruder alarm system.
